| Our Vision
Kirkland House A Heritage Farm House
Mission Statement
The Kirkland House Foundation is a volunteer group dedicated
to the restoration of this pioneer farm home and grounds as a
showplace entry point to Ladner, and to serve as a productive
gathering place for small non-profit community groups and events
which contribute to the preservation and improvement of the
social and cultural fabric of Delta.
Goals
-
That the main floor, or first
floor, be designated as a heritage showplace for relevant
farmhouse items appropriate to the early 20th century, and that
public access to this floor be ensured in the form of light use,
social gatherings, tours, etc....
-
That the second floor be
restored, and may be used as office space and meetings rooms, at
cost, for non-profit organizations.
-
That the third floor be for
Foundation use and storage only.
-
That the grounds of Kirkland Park
be developed in co-operation with community groups and become a
heritage style showplace accessible to the general public.
-
That a Delta farm history
recognition emphasis be developed on the site.
- That the ground floor of the house be developed as working
space, washrooms and other necessary utilities for the house.
